PRICE INDEXES IN2022
The2022 was considered a successful year in curbing inflation in Viet
Nam. In the context of rising again in the prices of some essential goods,
thanks to the synchronous implementation of measures from production to
consumption, supply and demand balance, the proactive and flexible
administration, the inflation was controlled in an acceptable range, facilitating
the price adjustment of some commodities managed by State to approach
gradually the margin of market price. Consumer price index (CPI) in
December2022 decreased by 0.08% compared to that in the previous month,
increased by 4.18% over the same period last year; Average CPI in2022 rose
by 3.61% against the same period last year.
- Factors for increase in CPI in 12 months of2022
+ In the 12 months of2022, the prices of gasoline were adjusted 34 times,
including 16 times of price reduction. On average in 12 months of2022, the
prices of domestic gasoline surged up 25.27% against the same period last
year; the rise in the prices of gasoline resulted in an increase in transport costs.
Therefore, the price of public transport services jumped up 15.51% compared
to that in the same period last year, causing an expansion of 12.74% in the
transport group over the same period last year.
+ The prices of domestic gas fluctuated in accordance with the prices of
the world gas, on average in 12 months of2022, the prices shot up 11.59%
compared to that in the same period last year.
+ The price of educational services in the 12 months of2022 climbed up
10.21% compared to the average figure in the same period last year, because
public schools began to collect tuition fees for the new school year2022-2023
in line with Resolution 06/2022/NQ-HĐND dated 7th July2022 by the People's
Council of Binh Thuan province.
