decrease. Therefore, households reduced their raising. Thanks to a stable
development of castle raising, a number of models of industrial grass growing
for fattening cattle were applied in districts like Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac,
and Tuy Phong, etc. This was a trend of economic development for rural
households. The castle population in the province reached 179,355 heads, a
year-on-year increase of 3.6% (mainly the cattle for meat).
+ The total number of pigs in the province reached 355,463 heads
(excluding piglets), a year-on-year surge of 10.4%, (of which 134,581 heads
were raised by enterprises, sharing 37.9% of the total livestock population, the
remaining 220,882 heads owned by households and farms, sharing 62.1% of
the total population). The proportion of pigs in the province showed a shrink in
households and an increase in enterprises and hi-tech livestock farms (CP). CP
farms and enterprises who owned high-tech facilities and were able to control
diseases from production to consumption, their production of meat products
was carried out in a closed chain, and they could ensure the supply, so they
were not affected by the output price.
- In 2022, the total live weight production reached 84.98 thousand tons, a
year-on-year growth of 15.32%.
- In 2022, the newly concentrated forest area reached 3,995.2 hectares, a
year-on-year surge of 43.7% (of which newly planted production forest
3,977.1 hectares, a growth of 44.9%; protected forest 3,977.1 hectares, an
increase of 44.9%; newly planted by households 18.1 hectares, a growth
11.7%.
- In 2022, the total aquaculture area reached 3,120.9 hectares, a year-on-
year surge of 33.29%, of which: Fish culturing area 2,417.7 hectares, a growth
of 41.15%; shrimp culturing area 664.1 hectares, a growth of 8.76%. Fishery
production reached 243.9 thousand tons, a year-on-year increase of 1%, of
which: fishery capturing production reached 231.3 thousand tons, a year-on-
year increase of 0.7% (Marine fishery) reached 230,692.8 tons, an expansion
of 0.6%; inshore capturing reached 635.1 tons, a decline of 0.5%).
