1. Health and community health care
In2022, health activities in the province witnessed positive development.
The province implemented Covid-19 vaccination coverage, improved the
capacity of monitoring, collection and treatment, well served examination and
treatment. At the same time, the authorities maintained Projects on Population
- Family Planning Target Program, health education communication;
prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, dengue
fever and other infectious diseases; well performed reproductive health care,
testing, quarantine and assessment; coordinated drug prevention; and provided
medical equipment to meet the basic needs of people's health care.
As of 31 December2022, the number of health care establishments in the
province was 145, including 10 hospitals (3 private hospitals), 12 regional
polyclinics, 112 health stations in communes, wards, and 11 other health
establishments. There were 4,478 patient beds, a year-on-year increase of
1.3%, of which 2,488 beds in hospitals, rose by 2.47%; 430 beds in regional
polyclinics, 575 beds in health stations, and 985 beds in other health
establishments. The number of patient beds per 10,000 inhabitants was 30.7
beds.
As of 31 December2022, the number of health staff was 4,840 persons, a
year-on-year growth of 0.64%, of which employees working in health sector
were 4,188 (up 0.9%); employees working in pharmaceutical sector were 652,
(a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%). The number of doctors per 10,000
inhabitants moved up from 7.9 persons in 2021 to 8.1 persons in2022.
In2022, the percentage of fully vaccinated children under 1 year of age
reached 96.4%. Prevalence of malnutrition (weight for age) among children
543
