POPULATION, LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT
                                                        IN2022

                           1. Population

                           The  average  population  of  the  province  reached  1,252,056  persons
                     in2022,  a  year-on-year  growth  of  0.46%  (equivalent  to  5,750  persons),  of

                     which the population in the urban areas and rural areas were 483,266 persons
                     and 768,790 persons, respectively, with the corresponding relative figures of
                     38.60%  and  61.40%.  The  male  population  was  631,191  persons,  making  up
                     50.41% and female population was 620,865 persons, accounting for 49.59%.

                     The average population density was 157.64 persons per km . The population
                     was unevenly distributed, with the highest concentration in Phu Quy district

                     (1,530.52 persons per km ) and Phan Thiet city (1,093.12 persons per km ).
                           The total fertility rate reached 1.97 children per woman in2022. The sex
                     ratio of the population was 101.66. The crude birth rate was 15.37‰ while the

                     crude  death  rate  was  6.93‰.  The  natural  growth  rate  attained  8.44‰.  The
                     infant  mortality  rate  was  11.07‰  while  the  under-5-mortality  rate  was
                     16.73‰.

                           2. Labor and employment

                           In2022,  the  labor  force  aged  15  and  over  was  695,360  persons,  an
                     increase  of  3,463  persons  (it  was  calculated  and  adjusted  since  2019  in
                     accordance with the new conceptual framework {ILCS19}, replacing the old

                     conceptual  framework  {ILCS13}),  of  which  male  employees  and  female
                     employees accounted for 55.40% and 44.60%, respectively. The labor force in
                     urban areas and in rural areas accounted for 37.78% and 62.22%, respectively.

                     The employed population aged 15 and over working in the economic sectors
                     were 673,505 persons, an increase of 3,921 persons over the same period of
                     2021.  The  percentage  of  trained  labor  force  aged  15  years  and  over  with
                     degrees  and  certificates  reached  18.47%,  of  which  trained  employees  of  the
                     urban areas and the rural areas gained 25.80% and 14.01%, respectively.
