OPERATION OF ENTERPRISES AND NON-FARM
HOUSEHOLD ESTABLISHMENTS
In2022, there were 1,504 newly registered enterprises (including
branches, representative offices, business points), a year-on-year increase of
53.63%. The total registered capital was 9,142.21 billion VND, a year-on-year
growth of 0.26%; 330 enterprises dissolved, a year-on-year increase of 50%;
the number of enterprises temporarily shut down was 381 enterprises, a year-
on-year increase of 37.55%; 1,519 enterprises were registered to adjustment, a
year-on-year growth of 23.3%.

As of 31 December, 2021 the number of actual active enterprises was
4,584 enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 9.95%, of which: the non-state
enterprises, the FDI enterprises increased by 9.9%, 14.5%, respectively; the
state-owned enterprises’s activities were stable, unchanged compared to that in
2020. In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic situation was well controlled, the
number of employees in the enterprise sector increased by 4.7% in the same
period, of which the employees in the state-owned enterprises continued to
decrease by 2.7%; while the employees in the non-state and the FDI

enterprises increased by 5.4%, 3.3%, respectively. As of 31 December, 2021
the production and business capital of the enterprise sector increased by 22.6%
compared to that in 2020, of which: the capital of state-owned enterprises
decreased by 7.8%; the capital of the non-state and the FDI enterprises
increased by 28.4%, 3.2%, respectively.
In 2021, the net turnover of production and business of the enterprise
sector reached 132,718,2 billion VND, a year-on-year growth of 21.3%, of
which: the state-owned enterprises reached 4,778.7 billion VND, down 6 .4%;
the non-state enterprises reached 106,044.3 billion VND, up 28.7%; the FDI
enterprises reached 21,895.2 billion VND, a rise of 0.1%. The rate of
profitable enterprises in the total number of enterprises was 36.0%, lower than
the rate of 37.1% in the same period last year; the rate of break-even
enterprises was 12.3%, lower than the rate of 21.3% in 2020; the remaining
